Sitting in the waiting room

While sitting in the waiting room during a recent doctor visit, I had the chance to read this article. It was a very touching article about a couple that "shocked" people with their relationship. Well, ok more for getting divorced and then marrying each other. These are two prominent people, Amy Grant and Vince Gill. Things didn't work out with their first spouses for whatever reasons, but I never saw/read about the spouses being bashed. They also took what they had learned from their first marriages and used that to NOT make mistakes in the 2nd one. They have now been married a decade and are still ever so much in love with each other.
I love it. I think this is an example of God working things out for the good. Divorce is not good, but when you can take what you've learned from your past and use it to change your future, that is best. I also think it's great that they have gone to great lengths to avoid ex-bashing and bitterness. They are the example I am looking toward as I navigate all these rocky paths.
I can lean on Jesus when the troubles come my way, whether it be remembering the rotten times or when lies about me are being purported as truth and used as attacks. Jesus knows the truth about me and he loves me (John 3:16; I John 4:7-8; I Corinthians 13). That is all that matters!
